Disconnected

DisconnectedYou know you are disconnected when:

- You watch everything there is to see on TV.
- You are able to open books from the curriculum at home.
- Yahtzee on your mobile phone is suddenly really interesting.
- There doesn’t seem to be enough Sudoku included in the daily newspapers.

In other words, thanks to old cables and frost, I have been disconnected for almost two weeks. I really didn’t think it could happen in one of the most sophisticated countries in the world, but apparantly it can. So right now I am off to go through the hundred something unread emails that have accumulated during this period, and of course excuse myself to those in charge of the blogs I write for.

trust me..the rabbit hole gets deeper. When you’re trying to work from home the inner troll inside shines bright before success comes ;)

A local one here: you know the whole campus is disconnected when you see on the student campus (girls I mean) cleaning their rooms

wow, two weeks… I think I’d self combust. Hopefully you’re up by now. given the writer’s strike, there isn’t much on television anyways to see.

Believe me, I know how you feel. How would you like to loose power 4-5 times every winter - no lights, no phone, no computer, only source of heat is a wood stove - which is where you cook your meals, snow up to your bupkiss!

Hope things are back to normal for you.

Or, move to another place ;-)

I totally understand your frustration. I also went thru that period in my life..I actually was away from my computer for about 1 month and when I finally checked my emails it was a disaster. It took me one whole week to read my personal and business emails.

I usually keep books, games or other materials in a bag for when ever Im stuck somewhere and have nothing to do. That way you dont die of boredom.
But I can’t imagine being without internet connection. lol.

I have been there, when moving to my wife’s parents for a short while. Man, what a difficult period! No internet, awful!

This is how I feel when I visit my folks. I work online and could telecommute, so really I could come down and help them once in a while, provided I could work too. But they got this really weird local isp that would not allow extra pc’s connected to the wireless network …. The only good side of this is that when I finally do come to visit, I once again convince myself there is either completely nothing on tv or 4 good things at the same time.
