Subscribers are you out there?

According to Feedburner’s stats, this blog currently has somewhere between 45 - 55 subcribers. I am a bit puzzled by this, seeing how I went almost a month and a half without posting before I wrote the post about Working with bbPress, and when I checked my stats around the time of my last post before that they were lower than the current numbers. This makes me question the accuracy of FeedBurner’s numbers, and with this post I really just want to make a shout out to see if anyone actually is subscribed to the blog.
If you are, I would love it if you made a comment, and even better, feel free to include what you like about the blog and why you’re still subscribing to my feed even though I have been extremely lazy with the updates. Maybe it’s just for self-motivation, but even if I get no responses I have a feeling that I will continue to voice my opinion even though nobody might currently be listening. Right now I’m just puzzled by the numbers FeedBurner is reporting, because the trends don’t seem to make much sense.
And just for the record, according to FeedBurner 14 of you who are subscribed to my feed are using Google Reader, and 9 of you are using Bloglines. The rest is evenly spread out on a bunch of random readers and feed-fetchers I’m not all that familiar with.

Lars-Christian -
I’m subscribed in Google Reader, and frankly, once I add a feed, I’m likely to leave it in place for quite a while, even if it’s not updated frequently.
On the contrary, I’m more likely to remove a feed for frequent “junk” postings than for infrequent postings.

I use bloglines. I only remove blogs from my feed reader if they start clogging it up; like The Times Online or something similar. Other times that they’re removed is if they have the red [!] next to the name.
Safe to say you’re neither of those so you get to stay.
I’m not subscribed to any blogs but I have a couple blogs I visit..yours being one. Not sure if that helps or not. If I subscribe will I get spam emails?
Thanks David and Amber for your responses. I guess you somewhat confirmed that there are other people out there like me who are more, once subscribed to a feed, less likely to unsubscribe because of lack of posts as opposed to too many posts.
Still puzzled about the increases during the slow times though.
And to you Matthew, thanks for stopping by
I certainly appreciate it. As for your question, no, I highly doubt signing up for an e-mail subscription will result in any spam mails. The service is provided by the Google owned FeedBurner, and I doubt it would reflect well on either of those two if they started sending out spam!
Of course, if you still haven’t discovered the wonders of RSS, you should look into it. It’s awesome, and much more convenient than e-mail subscriptions.
