Sitting at the airport at the moment, and with half an hour to spare before I have go and start the process of getting through the security posts I finally found a power outlet. Sweet joy, this means my iPhone won’t be dead by the time I land in Los Angeles!

As I’m sure most of you have noticed by now, my interest in music goes a little beyond what is expected of your average person (case in point, the now deceased Silent Sound Waves). With SSW no longer active, I thought I’d use this here little blog to publish my picks when it comes to albums of the year and decade (I’m a sucker for lists). Year is easy enough, but decade is a lot harded, and I’m bound to forget quite a few good ones, and that’s why I’ll start the process by sharing my shortlist.

I can’t remember a time that I have felt more excited about two almost simulatenous album releases.

Brand New - Daisy

Thrice - Beggars

If you haven’t listened to these albums already,  you need to go out and get them. And by get them, I mean purchase them, preferably multiple times, because this is quality music that will leave you feeling like a petty thief if you decide to acquire them the pirate way.

PS: Check out the acoustic studio versions of Bought A Bride and At The Bottom from Daisy. It’s amazing what you can find on Twitter!

PPS: If you’re on Twitter, you should give an @reply to this little informal questionaire I started. I want to know which title track people like the best. Both are absolute top-notch.

Nine months after I signed up and started scrobbling. Which means that I, on average, listen to a little over 37 songs per day. I would have thought it was a little higher to be honest, but it obviously doesn’t count the music that gets played in my car (that should be next, a car stereo which hooks up to the mobile network and scrobbles your listens!).

And for some reason my iPod and iPhone only scrobble about every other time I connect them. I have no idea why! Anyways, check out my Last.fm profile if you want to find some good music ;)

Just sitting here today waiting on that damned iPhone OS 3.0 update to finally go live, and I came across a great deal that’s running today only over at Amazon. House of Heroes’ album The End Is Not The End is going for only $1.99. It just so happens this was one of my favourite albums last year, and if any fibre of your musical ear is inclined to listen to pop-rock, you need to check it out!

Get it from Amazon.
