I spent the night catching up on House, and I was pleased to find that this show still has all the ingredients that got me hooked in the first place. This is contrary to a couple of other shows I’ve been following for quite some time but have decided to ditch after the season opening.
Heroes has in my opinion been going slowly downhill since the first season with the occasional good episode in between, but after the first episode of season four I am no longer watching. One Tree Hill is another show I’ve been watching for years, and quite frankly I don’t even know why. The first couple of seasons were great, but I’ve kept watching just to keep up with it, but after the nice ending to season six I don’t know why I even bothered to watch the first episode of the new one?
I also decided to check out some new music today, with Pedro The Lion being the highlight so far. I’ve seen the band name being dropped in lots of discussions pertaining to artists that I appreciate, and I finally got around to checking out one of the albums (It’s Hard To Find A Friend). The style of the music is very appealing to me at this time of year, and I really like what I am hearing so far when it comes to lyrics as well. Check it out!
How you have the stamina for house is beyond me. The same story every week exactly just with a different illness. Its so formulaic it is untrue. Good acting though
I agree to some extent, but the cases are really just plot vessels to drive the overlying story arch forward, as well as set up the situations where the show really excels: House interacting with people. The medical stuff mostly just flies right by me anyways, and really isn’t of much importance.
I actually saw an interview with Hugh Laurie, and it was funny to hear him tell that whenever he was speaking in medical jargon on the show he really had no clue what he was going on about.
But like you said, the show has a formula and has mostly stuck too it. If you’re tired of it, you should try the first few episodes of season six though. House institutionalized was certainly a change from what we’ve come to expect.
