August is just a day away
The lovely month of August, which is, at least way up north here where I live, the last month of summer and ends with the first days of autumn is almost here, and wow that summer went by fast.
It’s been a good one as well. I went into the summer not knowing much about anything in regards to my immediate future, but most of it has fallen into place. I passed all my last courses / exams with the necessary grades which means that I’ve earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and I’ve been admitted into the Master’s programme at the University here in Tromsø. As long as everything goes according to the plan, I’ll then have my Master’s degree and ready to enter the vast and frightening corporate life less than two years from now.
I guess that can be considered as my que to start networking?
Over to something far more interesting, what I’ve been doing these short couple of summer months! It’s actually not all that interesting, because I’ve mostly been working out of necessity as I’m always looking to fine-tune my skills to pay the bills. One thing I did do that was quite a party though was attend the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium.
It was four days of pure joy, just as would be expected from any event that lets you see bands like Kings of Leon, The Killers, Coldplay, Oasis and Metallica (just to mention a few) live. You can see some photos I took at the festival over at my Flickr profile. I must admit however that when I came back home after the week away I felt like I needed a vacation much more than the 20 days of work that were anticipating me in the three weeks that immediately followed.
Those three weeks have now passed, and I’m still alive, with a four day weekend off from work ahead of me, and life is generally just treating me well at the moment. Or so it seems anyways, but I’m sure Murphy’s law will kick in sometime soon
Hope all of you reading this had a nice summer as well, and that you’ll remember to enjoy what’s left of it! When those dark, wet and windy days of fall it always seems like there’s so much we forgot to do when we had the chance when everything was sunny and smiling.
As always when I’ve been idle for a longer period, I will try to post more often. I just need to find the inspiration to put together something interesting for you to read, because let’s be honest, nobody really wants to read these long and mundane updates about what I’ve been up to!
