Edit: I think I have made the structural changes I want to the theme. It isn’t exactly polished yet, but knowing my own limitations based on lazyness, there’s no telling when it will be. Hope you like it. If not, you can always just subscribe and read it in your reader anyways.

As you can see, I found a theme to base my new theme off of. What you are looking at right now however, is a completely unaltered version of the Blass theme. It’s extremely simple and to the point, and just what I was looking for. I will be modifying it quite a bit however, because I like my blog to have some sense of uniqueness in terms of look, even though it probably doesn’t matter all that much.

Among other things, I want to find a way to display my lifestream on the frontpage as well, but I need to find a plugin that actually works with WordPress 2.7 first. I should have the finished result ready in a couple of days, but don’t expect a drastic departure from what you are looking at right now.

Spent this weekend relaxing and not doing much, except for last night when I went out with a few of my friends, had a few beers (too much) and generally just had a good time. It was a nice celebration of the end of our semester! Yeah, the exams are finally over and done with again, for now.

Because I took the weekend off, I haven’t had time to evaluate the potential new writers over at Silent Sound Waves, but I just briefly reviewed their writings, and it looks like we’ll get at least one new writer on our team. Hopefully I’m as lucky with this time around as I was when I found Matt, because he’s delivered high quality articles that have really helped with gaining attention for the site.

Whenever I’m sleepy at night, it always disappears just as I’m about to fade away.

I just upgraded to WordPress 2.7 RC 1. Wanted to see what the new admin panel looked like before the stable release is out and I upgrade to it over at Silent Sound Waves. It looks good, but I just hope they won’t redesign it again as quickly as they have done after the previous makeover.

Right now I’m looking at the new theme situation. Should have something ready in not too long. Tonight’s dish off of the musical meny consists of Okkervil River, go listen to it.

When I posted a thread over at Bloggst asking for some feedback on my blog, the response was pretty much as expected, asking mainly for some more colour in the design. Like you’ll know, I tried switching to another theme, but I decided that I really love the fundamentals of what I already had worked out. As a result, I decided to do some work with it, and what you’re looking at now is more or less the finished product.

You should be able to tell the distinct difference. I’ve worked on the colours, and done some basic changes to the setup, although everything is still based around the old setup. Hopefully you’ll like it, as I’m quite pleased with it myself, and I’ve taken a liking to it myself – I feel it’s simple, like I want it to be, but not quite as boring as a medical journal any more ;) Comments are of course appreciated!

This also marks a bit of a turn for my blog, as I will shift the focus a bit. From being mainly an outlet for my personal rantings and banterings every now and then when I feel like it, I will start posting more frequently, in an attempt to make it a bit more interesting for the readers, and at the same time attract more of you. This also means narrowing down the categories I write about a bit, and I will be stripping out some of the things that I don’t see myself writing about in the future. I will mainly be focusing on web trends, internet marketing and project development (productivity included). Of course, everything will still have a personal touch, and be based around my own opinions and experiences.

Hopefully I’ll be able to attract a few more readers, and still be able to enjoy my writing with this change – Time will tell!

I am currently doing some work redoing the theme for the blog. I decided that instead of switching to a brand new theme, I’ll just work a bit on the current one, since I really like it, and I have already put loads of work into it, getting all the plugins working like I want them to. Right now I have removed the highlight latest article feature (to waste less vertical space) and moved the navigation over to the left, like it should be on blogs.

I know the top really sucks, but it was the best I could do at 6 AM after working the entire day with my assignment! I will keep working on the theme when I get the time though, so hopefully I’ll be able to make some decent improvements to it pretty soon.

Edit: Well that’s a little better, I think. I do need to work some more on adding some “flare” to the design, although I have to say the simplicity of the theme more than anything.
