AI Is a False God

To say that AI on its own will be able to produce art misunderstands why we turn to the aesthetic in the first place. We crave things made by humans because we care about what humans say and feel about their experience of being a person and a body in the world.

I’ve been on a bit of an AI binge recently, as I still haven’t been able to coherently express my own feelings on the tech in writing. Navneet Alang’s nuanced take is thought provoking and insightful.

The quote perfectly expresses the meaninglessness of “AI art” in two sentences. It’s humans all the way down.
