Coming home, feeling seen

… there’s all this hype about making everything easier and faster, about how we can eliminate all the work involved in the making of words and images. But no one arguing for this seems to have asked what’s left when the work is gone.
I’m struck by so much in this piece of writing. So many thoughts I’ve thought without being able to formulate in a coherent fashion. I feel seen, and would implore you to read it from start to finish.
But the quoted part is a source of existential dread I feel on behalf of humanity. I know it’ll be alright. People will figure it out, I’m sure of it. But then you look at all that’s going on, and you can’t help but wonder.
What’s left when the work is gone?
