On consideration, it seems like an obvious dystopian evolution as "social media" and generative AI converge. And maybe the thing that will finally see us drop the "social" label from these platforms that have long since abandoned any pretence of being about connecting people. They're all champing at the bits to replace influencers with in-house generated content optimised to keep us doomscrolling.
