That was good: kitchen communication
Our kitchen isn't the biggest. The result is that, when my wife and I both try to do stuff, we end up with small quarrels on account of poor communication. I expect her to notice me and just get out of the way when I need something in a drawer, whereas she wants me to ask in a specific manner to indicate that I need her to give me some space.
This morning we were both standing along the countertop when the three year old came in to grab a spoon. Her solution?
"Toot, toot! I need a spoon."
Both grown-ups agreed; that was good communication.
