Centralisation is probably a bug, not a feature

Speaking of data, I have never encountered a service that is fully transparent as to (1) what data is exactly used for what, (2) where it is stored, and (3) how they secure and eventually delete it.
Couldn't agree more with Wouter's assertations here. I'm doing my best to "decentralise" everything that has become tied to the phone over the past decade, but it definitely feels like an uphill struggle at this point.
