Strava hates the open web
Browsing through the discussions in a (very interesting) Strava group, I noticed people shared links in the following way:
If you try to share a plain URL in a Strava group discussion, Strava literally just strips the link away from your post. No advance warning, no heads up afterwards. It just disappears as if you never included it.
This is an affront against everything the web was supposed to be. Sharing links is an essential part of the fabric of the web, nowhere more so in discussions between people.
Just one more reason I'm glad I moved all my exercise data to my own workout log instead of continuing to support walled gardens like Strava with my data and attention. And if you're looking for a platform aligned with the values of the open web that additionally has ten times as many tools for analysing your data than Strava, I can wholeheartedly recommend Intervals.icu.
