Highresaudio.com and new album purchases

Bad news for my wallet. I've discovered Highresaudio.com. It appears to be a quite extensive library of music in high resolution file formats, available for purchase to let you actually own the music you enjoy.

When it comes to music, unlike books, my preference is to own a physical copy. Specifically vinyl, because I enjoy the process and feel of playing a record. However, I don't have the money to purchase the vinyl of every album I'd like to own. High resolution digital files are a decent alternative. I can get three albums for the price of a single vinyl.

Been looking to add a couple of specific albums to my collection, and I found them both at Highresaudio:

Lord Huron - The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1

Album cover for Lord Huron - The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1. The artwork shows an etheral-looking thing that may be a jukebox standing in the middle of a dark wood.

Been a big fan of Lord Huron since Strange Trail came out. (Only lucky that I can say that I discovered them before 13 Reasons Why propelled to the global stage.) Was going to see them in concert in the spring of 2020, but, yeah… That pandemic thing went a bit overboard.

They are finally coming back to Oslo, though, and I'm seeing them this coming Thursday! Haven't listened to the new album yet, but want to give it a couple of spins before the concert.

New Order - Brotherhood

Album cover for New Order - Brotherhood. It shows a white, blue wavy, almost liquid looking pattern with some text stamped on to it.

I'm not particularly well-versed in 80's music. But I love the characteristic sound, and lots of early 2000's music that leans heavily into that sound. So I want to explore the influences.

Picked this album because it has Bizarre Love Triangle. We all gotta start somewhere, eh?
