The books are alright

Bookmarked Against Disruption: On the Bulletpointization of Books.

Peter Wang, CEO of a software company that deals with machine learning and AI, chimed in to predict that publishers would stop publishing straightforward books, and instead put out “nuggets of thought that can interact with the ‘reader’ in a dynamic and multimedia way.” He calls these new book products (which are basically just reinvented enhanced ebooks that were supposed to be the next big thing circa 2010) thunks.

THUNKS! I truly thought he was joking!

The idea that books are in need of disruption is such a tech bro idea that I can't even. If books are somehow too challenging, it's a sign that you need to do some real self-improvement.

And I don't mean this in a hypothetical promise of future success that the universe will send your way if you just start reading books. If you lack the attention span necessary to enjoy a book, you will start feeling better about yourself if you start cultivating that skill.

THUNKS (!) though. What a wild world.
