Captain Kennit
About a third into Ship of Magic, and Captain Kennit is an absolute enigma of a character. Very dislikable in a likable way.
The passage where he brings the captured slave ship "home" and what ensues is both hilarious and an eerily familiar accounting of the disconnect between the inside and the outside.
