Better wintering
Winter is arguably the least popular season (again, who decided we have to even pick favorites and least favorites?! We don’t!) — it’s cold, dark, and has a penchant for hosting various wildly communicable upper respiratory illnesses, which nobody likes.
When you grow up way up north, far above the Arctic Circle, you don’t have the luxury of not enjoying winter. The dark, the cold and the snow is simply life for a large part of the year.
I enjoyed Rachel’s approach to better wintertime living. My favourite part of winter is being outdoors.
The crisp, clear air.
The acoustics of snow covered forests.
The precious hours of light.
Skiiing.
Sleighing.
Snowboarding.
Ths absolute safety of the warmth of the fireplace coupled with the satisfying exhaustion after hours of activity outside in the cold.
