A new week in the making

It’s Sunday, and a new week is looming in the not too far distance. Well actually, right here it’s about an hour past midnight already, so the new week is already upon me. Why am I up so late, you ask? Isn’t it obvious? I have an assignment due tomorrow and it needs to be finished. Read on to find out why I didn’t get around to do it earlier, it’s an exciting story!

Okay, it’s not that exciting. But I got you to click on that read more link, didn’t I? Anyways, last week was quite eventful for me. We had a three day class excursion where we travelled with Hurtigruten for two days, and stayed one night at a decent hotel in Stokmarknes.

The academic purpose of the trip was to visit a few of the more influential businesses in the (inter)national fish industry, and get a look into how they were structured and how the day-to-day production went ahead. It was quite interesting, of course some more than others, but all in all I’d say that it was a sucessful event. I commend the Norwegian College of Fishery Science (my faculty at the University of Tromsø) for providing us with the possibility of doing this.

Of course the most interesting part of the whole journey for me was the social aspect (read: parties!). It was a great chance for all of us to get to know our fellow classmates a bit better, or at least those we didn’t know all that well already. And who would have known, it turned out well. I got better acquainted with most all the people in my class, and I think that it’ll make my schooldays more enjoyable!

So now you know why I didn’t get to the assignment in Business Economy until today. Okay, I got back yesterday, but who wants to spend a Saturday on those things? It didn’t matter all that much though, because I’ve finished it now, and just need to polish it and it’ll be ready to turn in. Hopefully I will pass.

Oh, and for those who were wondering where my MacBook is (I know I am), it appears that my tracking status hasn’t been updated since the last time I posted, which should mean that it is still sitting in a warehouse somewhere in Shanghai sigh If delievery continues in this pace, I’ll be sending it back the minute I get it, in exchange for a Core 2 Duo. If I feel the relatively small upgrade is worth going through the waiting process again, that is.
