Status report on Bloggst

First of all, Happy New Year! Hope you all had a great time celebrating on the evening of the new year. Now, on to business. I thought I would start the year doing a sort of status report on my main project which I (hopefully) will be concentrating on the coming weeks and months. As you may or may not have noticed, I have a link to a site called Bloggst here on my blog, and many have already guessed that this is infact my new project.

I don’t really want to reveal too much about the project before the opening for various reasons, but what I can say is that as the name indicates it will be related to blogging, and the main goal behind the project is to create a valuable resource for bloggers everywhere! Sounds ambitious, doesn’t it?

Right now I have more or less finished the planning stages of the project, and I have moved on to working on the actual design of the site. The setup isn’t too complicated, but I really want to make it simple and accessible. Not a whole lot of fancy features to begin with, but I’m definately keeping the options of expanding in the future open with the setup I have decided on. Scalability is important, especially if you have some faith in the project and hope that it might actually succeed.

Like I said I have now moved on to the design phase of the process, and after being left without inspiration for a couple of weeks, some really nice ideas popped into my head the other day, and if I carry them out right I believe that the design can actually become a strength of the project. At least if you compare it to the competition, which from what I’ve managed to gather isn’t a whole lot. I hope to get a good piece of work done on the design today, and after that I’ll be pushing myself to get it ready and fully functioning as soon as possible. This is so that I can move on to the next phase as soon as possible, and that will be creating a solid content foundation for the site.

I will be sure to keep you updated on this project, and hopefully the updates will come often and not too far apart. Right now I am definately excited at the prospect of working with this project and all the challenges it will throw at me as soon as it is launched!
