Job Search - Part Two (Final Part)

Like I mentioned in my previous post, there are some updates on my ongoing quest for a part-time job, and I am glad to say that this is most likely the final post in my series of posts covering this aspect of my life! When I started out my “search”, I applied for a few jobs, and I got called in for interviews at two of them. One a gas-station, and the other one a toystore.

Now, get ready for the funny part of the story! When I last Wednesday was going for the interview at the gas-store I had applied for a position at, I actually ended up at the wrong station. Silly? By all means. However, they do say that good things can come from bad situations, and it definately goes for me in this case.

It just so happened that the station I ended up at by accident was looking for new emoployees as well. I had a nice talk with the man in charge there, dropped by the day after with my resume, and I was called in again this morning. The rest, as they say, is history!

I still haven’t received the answer from the two other places, but I have already decided to go with this one that I’ve already been offered. The workload of at least 8 shifts per month is right up my alley, but what really drew me in was the fact that I was promised flexibility when it comes when I have/wish to work. This suits me perfectly, seeing how between university, football and my girlfriend, I have quite a bit on my plate.

Another good thing was that you’re never alone on the job, something which I personally find to be a very good thing. I have worked at a station before, and it can get tiresome when you’re alone on the job.

So there you have it, I now have a job again, and I am very happy with it! I’m starting next week, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated. As for my online projects, well, there is certainly progress, but a few small things have taken up more time than I’m happy with. I am still working franticly to get everything in place, and hopefully launch isn’t more than a couple of weeks away.
