We’re so co-co-co-co-controversial
We are entirely smooth.
We admit to the truth, we are the best at what we do.
And these are the words you wish you wrote down, this is the way you wish your voice sounds, handsome and smart.
Oh my tounge’s the only muscle on my body that works harder than my heart, and it’s all from watching TV, and from speeding on my breathing.
Wouldn’t stop if I could, oh it hurts to be this good.
You’re holding on to your grudge. Oh it hurts to always have to be honest with the one that you love, so let it go.
My favourite verse from the song OK I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don’t by Brand New, one of my favourite songs of all time. I honestly have no idea what the verse or the song actually means, and I have no intention of trying to figure it out, because it means so much to me already that I don’t want to spoil it.
For me the song is all about being confident about who you are, and rising above whatever other, narrow-minded people might think about you, and weathering the storms that other people try to send in your direction. That’s pretty much how I interpret everything from Brand New; listening to their music is a very introspective experience. I really hope their new album comes out this year.
On another note, I watched Rushmore last night (about 10 years late, I know), and it was a great movie. The scene of Max’ first day of public school was absolutely amazing: He looked so out of place, like cartoon character in a photograph.
That is all I have for now. Going to Friday night soccer practice. Adieu!
