Planen var en blåseøkt, og det ble det også. Seks ganger to runder, det vil si 800 meter. Siktet på 90 sekunder per runde, 3 min per drag. Higen etter noe å gå på gjorde at litt for mange av rundene ble litt for raske. Ikke optimalt. Helt i grenseland dette for hva som er for høy fart for meg nå, og at det går fra kontrollert løping til bare mas og tjas. Noterte i loggen at morgenøkta tirsdag for et par uker siden var bemerkelsesverdig tung. Fikk kjapt nok svar på årsaken til det, og var ute av spill utpå kvelden samme dag. Etter noen dager men ganske vanlig forkjølelse satte det seg i brystet, og her er vi, to uker og mye hosting av slim senere. I etterpåklokskapens skarpe lys finnes det ingen gode valg, og det kan nok argumenteres for at den økta burde vært droppet. Likefullt, skal man hvile hver gang man føler seg litt pjusk blir det heller ikke særlig til form å snakke om. Uansett, denne gangen trakk man "rykk tilbake til start" og i dag startet man på nytt på den lange veien tilbake. Som alltid mentalt blytungt når alt av treningsrytme er borte. Men, uten nært forestående treningsmål hadde man i alle fall forstand nok til å vente til man faktisk var frisk med å begynne å trene igjen. Og da føltes det faktisk helt OK å jogge litt — i motsetning til når man starter opp for tidlig og hele første uka er ren lidelse. Klokka var visst blitt fri for strøm på disse to ukene, så måtte logge med footpoden.

Fysj og fy, i dag var det blytungt. Hadde i utgangspunktet ambisjoner om åtte, kanskje til og med ti drag, men det var bare å glemme. Måtte grave dypt bare for å komme meg opp til et akseptabelt minimumsantall. Hjelper ikke akkurat at det er så sabla varmt nede i treningsbunkersen på jobb — og ikke er det vifter i nærheten og ei heller kan man, av respekt for andre mosjonerende, dra av seg skjorta og løpe fritt i baris når det begynner å røyne på. Når 6-åringen melder at «han har så vondt i foten» at han ikke klarer å gjøre noe annet enn å sitte inne er det ingen kjære mor. Eller far, for den saks skyld. Sykling er skånsomt, så da passer det helt ypperlig å bli med på opphavets søndagsøkt. (Og ikke feil for gamlingen med selskap.) Planen var åtte runder kontrollert hardt, «terskel»-ish. Vi åpnet nok et knepp for hardt. Ble bra trøkk første seks rundene, men på syvende meldte sykkelharen at han «ikke klarte mer». Det ble dog fort glemt når det ble snakk om førstemann på siste runden! Oppsummert kan vi vel kalle det 6 runder hard terskel, én runde flyt, én runde all out. Bra økt etter et par dager med litt snufsing og noe rusk i halsen. Berger en minimumsuke her med denne og kveldens styrketrening. Og bare å friskmelde seg nå, så gode muligheter for å levere til par neste uke. Motivert og inspirert av å se folk levere gode prestasjoner i Berlin i dag. Frister til å prøve seg igjen — men er det like gøy når man ikke jakter pers?

Ohlaaa! Enten er denne jobbmølla tidenes tyngste, eller så er det bare å konkludere med at veien tilbake til noe som ligner grei form blir lang. Veldig lang. Heller med friskt overmot selvfølgelig mot det første. Fart 14,5 - 15,2 km/t. Snittpuls fra lav S3 til lav S4. Det er jo iogforseg helt OK, men det bare føles så sinnsykt tungt. Opplevd anstrengelse veldig, veldig høy! Er kanskje det som er dårlig form? Ellers hjalp det nok ikke nevneverdig på opplevelsen å kjøre beinstyrke rett før, men alt for svett til å dasse rundt etter løpinga så sånn må det bli.
